The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technologies at the Technical Institute of Mosul (Northern Technical University) is a prestigious academic landmark, with roots dating back to 1976 when the institute was first established. Since then, the department has undergone multiple stages of development to keep pace with technological leaps in the industrial and oil sectors.

Strategic Shift to the Polytechnic System: In response to the modern vision of the Northern Technical University to advance technical education, the department transitioned to the Polytechnic system. This qualitative transformation marked a major shift in the students’ academic path, as the department now awards two degrees:

• Technical Diploma.

• Technical Bachelor’s Degree.

Awarding Mechanism (A Studied Equation): These degrees are awarded according to a well-studied scientific equation that balances theoretical academic knowledge with intensive practical application. This ensures the graduation of engineering cadres equipped with both hands-on field skills and solid scientific knowledge, efficiently meeting the ever-evolving demands of the labor market.
