Department History

The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technologies was established in the academic year 2025–2026 in response to an urgent and critical need in the Nineveh Governorate and Iraq as a whole, particularly following the conflicts and hardships that left behind large numbers of amputees and individuals with special needs. The goal was to prepare specialized technical personnel capable of designing, manufacturing, and fitting prosthetic limbs and medical orthotics in accordance with international standards.
